What is MusikMatters?

MusikMatters, formerly known as Musikgarten, was established in 1997. It offers creative music workshops for pre-school and school-age children, from 18 months to six years.

MusikMatters classes are designed for you and your child to come along and have fun making music together. Sessions last about 40-45 minutes. Accompanied classes have 10 children with one teacher, and unaccompanied classes up to 14 children with two teachers present.

We use professional percussion instruments, singing, music and movement, action songs and listening games to encourage your child to experience and create good quality music. The programme aims to teach them about pitch, rhythm, dynamics, style and notation, in an informal and nurturing environment.

Our teachers are experienced as both musicians and teachers and have first aid training. Monday classes run in Emsworth and Tuesday and Friday classes run in central Chichester.
