Meet the Team

Katy Brereton - BA HONS and CTABRSM

Katy BrertonKaty Brerton is a musician and experienced music practitioner. She was the founder member of Musikmatters, set up in 1997, and has played a key role in its development both as a workshop leader and business partner. Katy also works for PACSO, running music activities for children with special needs and their siblings, and for Chichester Nursery School and Children’s Centre, devising creative workshops, delivering teacher-training sessions and courses for parents.

Katy is an experienced flute teacher, having gained a BA Hons in Performing Arts, and, more recently, a teaching certificate from the ABRSM. She teaches in several schools around Chichester, as well as running a private practise. She regularly organises concerts for pupils and runs ensemble groups, as well as performing with her own flute trio.

 

Vicki Lee - BA HONS

Vicki LeeVicki has been working for MusikMatters since graduating with a Music and English BA during 2003, and became a partner during 2007. She has particularly developed MusikMatters’ teaching programmes for 3-6 year olds. Vicki is currently building upon her qualifications in the Kodaly music teaching method.

She teaches piano and regularly enters her students for practical and theoretical exams through the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music through which she also works as a piano accompanist. Vicki runs occasional sessions for Welcome House Nursery, Jellyroll, Encore Theatre Workshops, the Westgate Leisure Centre, the Home Education Music Group and private functions.

 

Jo Seear - BA HONS

Jo SeearJo has a wide experience of working with children, especially pre-schoolers. She is a nursery assistant and music workshop leader at Chichester Nursery and previously worked at Chantry House Nursery. She also works for local charity PACSO (Parents and Carers Support Organisation) assisting children with additional needs.

She holds a BA in English and Fine Art and has accomplished a number of Piano and Voice qualifications. Jo also works as lead singer for originals band The Heart Shaped Buttons and covers band Dynamo Five.

Jo’s variety of teaching experience also includes being a team leader for camp America and teaching English as a Foreign Language at Chichester College.
